It's been 11 years since coach Andy Gusa led an Ubly team to a Regional title, but it was well worth the wait. The Bearcats had little trouble en route to sweeping Byron, but took five games to knock off Valley Lutheran. Tames he Bearcats won games one and two, and dropped (albeit competitively) games three and four.
They trailed 8-4 in game five, but rallied to tie up at 11-11, before winning 15-13. Down four, the team looked mentally and physically exhausted, but reached down deep to win the deciding game. Kudos to the girls for an impressive effort.
