For 14 years in a row from 1993-2005 Owen-Gage won District championships each year; making them arguably the most dominant Thumb volleyball team during that span. But in the three years since then, things have gone in a different direction.
Despite some tough times recently, the Bulldogs proved this program may be en route to a turnaround after beating North Huron in four games in the Class D District title game in front of their home fans. It was great action; many balls that should have hit the floor for points were miracously popping back up in the air for a teammate to hit or sometimes over the net.
It was fun for all involved.
Here are some links to audio from Owen-Gage coaches Karen Gaeth and Ashley Adams, as well as North Huron's Veronica Peterson.
