The Bearcats suffered a tough 41-13 loss to TCSF in today's finals. Here are some pictures from from the game. We'llhave much more in this week's "Thanks for the memories..." section in our paper on Wednesday. It will include some stories that have appeared on the blog this past week as well as a few new features, a story on the game and coach Sweeney's thoughts on the season and the game.
As a TCSF parent, I want to congratulate Ubly on a great season. A year ago my son, Ben Swan, was sitting on the sideline with a broken ankle watching his team get beat and not knowing if he would get the chance to play again. Yesterday was a better day for him. After each game, I ask him whether his opponents were good sports or dirty players. Yesterday he, and his teammates, said that both teams showed respect for each other, and that Ubly displayed the best sportsmanship of any team St. Francis played all year. At our team luncheon after the game, your team and your community were remembered in the prayer offered by one of our captains. It's a shame to have a dream season end with a loss, but all of Ubly should be proud of the effort, accomplishments, and character displayed by your team this year. Best of luck in the future!
