We had to go to an extra session to decide this year's winner and it nearly went to the tie-breaker.
This year's winner is Twocentsworth, who edged out Rick Glaza by one pick!!! 2cents finished at 46-18 and Glaza 45-19.
This truly was a back-and-forth battle as Rick had a one game edge after D1 picks, but 2cents tied up after D2. It remained tied after four (both were 5-3 in D3 and 3-5 in D4), until 2centsworth used a 7-1 round in D5 to take a one game edge. Glaza tied it up in D6, but 2centsworth had a perfect round in D7 to take a one game lead, which held up as both went 7-1 in D8.
What game did Glaza miss in D7? He picked Sand Creek to beat Reading, when Reading actually won.
Had it gone to a tiebreaker, Glaza would have been the champion. He picked 262 as total points for D7 games combined, while 2centsworth picked 261. The actual number wasn't even close as the combined points for those games equalled 458.
Congrats to twocentsworth on his win. Send me an e-mail and I'll contact you about how to get you your prize.
