Cougars Dash District Hopes for North Huron

It was everything a District final should be.......hard fought , intense, emotional, but unfortunately the emotion at the end of the game was disappointment as they lost a nine point lead midway throught the fourth and eventually lose the game 50-45 to a tough Bay City All Saints team.

It was a close first quarter as both teams ran the floor but couldn't get the scoring started until the third minute of the contest - then the fun began with both teams trading baskets.

The second frame slowed down a bit and saw each team score 7 points and go into the half tied at 19.

Dimarius Walker was the show in the first half scoring 16 points while the rest of the team only added three points.

The Warriors didn't get the scoring started in the third until Anthony Irvine hit a three to start a 10-2 run and open up a five point lead.

The Warriors took a 6 point lead into the fourth quarter that was a scoring frenzy - for both teams - but the Cougars got the better end of the deal.

With 4:41 the Warriors were up 8. The Cougars went on a 9-0 run to put them up by one. The Cougars put this one away and started thinking about hoisting the District trophy when they went on a 5-1 run to finish the game.

The Warriors freethrow shooting didn't do them any favors tonight. After shooting 20/28 (71%) on Wednesday, they unofficially shot 7/18 (38%) which proved to be crucial.
