Area teams dominate at CC Regionals

Division four pictures taken by Steve Jias.

Who would have known?
Heading into this past weekend's cross-country regionals, I thought the Harbor Beach girls had a great shot at finishing first and I figured some other individuals would make it, but four total teams? I'm very pleasantly suprised!
Aside from the HB girls, the USA girls finished second and qualified as a team. On the boys' side, the Ubly boys finished first and the USA boys second, qualifying both to compete in next weekend's State Finals. The Bearcats are possibly the biggest suprise, as they were kind of a suprise team when they won the GTE league crown a few weeks back.
We'll have audio, that's right...cross country audio, from HB coach Linda Wright, Ubly coach Tammy Laurie and USA coach Robin Wasik later tonight.
Hopefully all you CC parents and bloggers will support your teams and download the audio. If we see the interest, we'll definitely post more audio following next week's finals.
For now, here are some of the results...

First, we'd like to thank the Huron County Press for the coverage they've given to Cross Country this year, with a special thanks to Steve Jias for coming out to take photos and interviews at the Region 4 Regionals. We would like to point out, however, that to the loyal followers of the Ubly Boys Cross Country Team, it was no surprise at all that the boys finished first at both the league meet and regionals. This is a great group of kids who've worked together as a team for several years. They, along with their coaches, have worked long, hard hours to earn these honors and deserve acknowledge for earning and deserving accolades, not surprise that they've done it!
