Harbor Beach knocks off Ligett

The Pirates picked up the hard fought, 2-1 win in 2 OTs today. They trailed 1-0 ealry but rebounded to tie it in the second half. After a scoreless overtime, Dustin Mazure (a first year player) scored the game winner, knocking in a rebound shot (or at least that is what it looked like, with all the bodies around the goal).
After winning districts, coach Phil Bowen said he had yet to see his team play a full game as they were capable of, but after this effort it is no doubt they are playing up to their potential. Not bad for a team without any seniors.
Of note, the game was VERY physical and several yellow cards were issued. One Ligett player actually argued with HB fans, telling them to shut up, because they were winning. They say good sports are winners and in this case, that statement seems to be VERY true.

This was a great game. Harbor Beach played with determination and heart. Good luck in the regional final boys!
